East African Community Secretariat, Arusha, 23 April 2014: The 29th meeting of the EAC Extra-Ordinary Council of Ministers is underway at the EAC headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania.
The 29th meeting of the EAC Extra Ordinary Council of Ministers will be conducted through the session of Senior Officials 23-24 April 2014; the session of the Co-ordination Committee i.e. Permanent Secretaries 25-26 April 2014; and climax with the Ministerial session on Monday 28 April 2014.
The High level decision making policy organ of the Community will be expected to consider among others; alternative financing mechanisms for the EAC; progress of negotiations on the admission of the Republic of South Sudan into the Community; as well as a progress report on the EAC Institutional Review.
In addition, the meeting will consider a report on the revised model structure, road map and action plan for the East Africa Political Federation.
The 29th Extra-Ordinary Council of Ministers meeting will be followed by the 12th Extra-Ordinary Summit of EAC Heads of State on 30 April 2014 also in Arusha, Tanzania
