PRIME MINISTER AALIKA INVESTMENT IN HEALTH, AGRICULTURE, ENERGY

PRIME MINISTER Mizengo Pinda said the government has opened the gates for investors in all sectors but the resident is directed more to the health sector, especially agriculture products processing, energy and infrastructure.

He has given this statement today afternoon (Monday, October 20, 2014) when he participated Debate Presidents (Presidential Keynote Panel) on investment opportunities in Africa aimed to show investment opportunities available in Africa especially in the countries of Tanzania, Uganda, Ghana and Rwanda who have begun today at the Savoy hotel in London, England.


The Prime Minister arrived in London yesterday afternoon to attend a meeting of heads of state that involves investment in Africa (The Global African Investment Summit - TGAIS) on behalf of President Jakaya Kikwete and has shared the discussion with President John D. Mahama of Ghana, President Yoweri Museveni of Ugandan, Rwandan President Paul Kagame.

"We need investment in most sectors but more in the health sector in medical colleges and nursing staff to obtain sufficient, manufacture of medicines and medical supplies to the construction of the hospital," he said.

Other priority areas that are especially agriculture and agro-processing, given that a large percentage of Tanzanians depends on agriculture for subsistence. "Many Tanzanians still depend on agriculture as their main means of production, we also need to get the electricity to run factories due to gas, coal, geo-thermal well," he added.

Commenting on the investment in infrastructure, the Prime Minister expressed the Government ilivyojipanga build new railways with more than km length. 2000 from Dar es Salaam to Kigoma railway from Tanga via Arusha to Mwanza and construction of the port of Bagamoyo with the consolidation of the ports of Tanga, Mtwara and Dar es Salaam.

For their part, the Presidents of Ghana, Uganda and Rwanda have described the opportunities available in their countries in the areas of mining, road and rail infrastructure, electronics, and information technology and communications.

Earlier, welcoming the delegates of the two-day meeting, the Chairman of the meeting, former President of Nigeria, Mr.. Olesegun Obasanjo said Africa has a greater chance of developing maenedeleo sectors through investment resources, agriculture products processing, energy and tourism.

"Countries which are in sub-Saharan Africa are many opportunities for investment and not the four that zimewakilishwa today here in Tanzania, Uganda, Ghana and Rwanda. There are projects worth over 200 billion dollars that will get kunadiwa opportunities for investors through this meeting, "he said.

"These countries have invited the presidents from four to give us the light of what we been able to do in their country ... but we also recognize in Africa there are many young people who are more than 60 percent who do not work. We would have come out if we look on this group. It should inayotafutiwa investors focused projects create jobs for our young people, that they might Income (Wealth Creation) and technology transfer, "he said.

The conference is attended by heads of companies and institutions trade more 400.
